Our approach to treating heart conditions
Instead of having parts of your care provided piecemeal by different cardiologists, at Metro Heart & Vascular Institute, we pride ourselves in being able to provide you almost complete care of your cardiac and vascular problems.
Dr Rampurwala’s training as a general cardiologist allows him to address your general cardiology problems like preventive care, hypertension, high cholesterol, and heart rhythm problems.
His advanced training in heart failure and transplant allows him to treat patients with complex heart failure, offering them more advanced therapies through our collaboration with tertiary care centers with heart transplant programs.
Most importantly, Dr Rampurwala further specialized in cardiac and peripheral interventions at the world renowned Krannert Institute of Cardiology. We offer the less invasive approach to heart catheterization by performing our angiograms through the wrist, as opposed to the older approach of performing it through the groin.
We have a special interest in amputation prevention and are usually referred patients by podiatrists as second opinion to try to establish blood flow to the feet. We work closely with heart centers that offer transcutaneous aortic valve replacement (TAVR), the new treatment for patients with severe aortic stenosis who are too high risk for surgery.
